Safety & Environmental Responsibility

Health
& Safety

Our employees are our most valuable asset… so their health and safety is our top priority.

Sure-Form’s management group is committed to the prevention of health, safety and environmental incidents. We approach incident prevention by working in cooperation with employees, clients and subcontractors to address concerns and continuously improve health and safety within the workplace. The company is dedicated to providing the required resources to achieve this.

In an effort to combine Safety and Environmental Responsibility, Sure-Form has adopted SiteDocs, a paperless safety compliance App accessible to all employees on their mobile devices creating instantaneous communication and monitoring with employees on-site and in the office. SiteDocs provides real time, completed documentation that is then accessible anywhere, anytime. Not only does this system promote best practices in safety accountability but is also a more environmentally responsible approach than paper documentation.

The
Fence

During the pre-planning stage of the Sturgeon Heights Reservoir IPD Project, it was important to all project partners to respect the neighborhood that we would be impacting during the construction phase of this project. When working in an established neighborhood, we automatically cause a disruption to the status quo as soon as we mobilize to site. The Sturgeon Heights Reservoir was being built in public park space in a mature residential neighborhood and would be under construction for a two-year period.

Rather than erecting standard construction fencing that is less than desirable to look at, Sure-Form erected a wooden fence around the perimeter of the construction site to lessen the unappealing look of an active construction site to the residents who live there, reduces noise pollution, and helps in dust mitigation from wind blowing dust into the park space and residential properties. At the conclusion of the project, this wooden structure will be dismantled and reused/repurposed in its entirety.

Commitment to
Environmental
Responsibility

Sure-Form is committed to listening, learning and implementing new best practices in responsible building methods in an effort to improve and protect our environment for our future generations.

Sure-Form’s Environmental Protection Plans (EPP) identify priority areas, goals and strategies to direct Sure-Form’s activities in protecting the environment. Company management, employees and subtrade contractors are committed to maintaining a high level of awareness of the potential detrimental effects of construction activities and the measures required to minimize such impacts.

Sure-Form has an excellent track record in protecting the environment, which directly results from our company’s commitment to environmental stewardship. This is reflected in initiatives we have and will continue to embark upon with all stakeholders, including federal, provincial, and municipal governments, owners, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and industry to establish environmentally friendly planning of construction activities.
